Reid calls on the carrier to take the long view to protect jobs and growing tourism.
Las Vegas, NV—Nevada Senator Harry Reid in a letter to the president and CEO of US Airways called on the carrier to reconsider planned cuts to flights and pilot positions at McCarran International Airport. These cuts would affect more than 400 jobs at the airport at a time when tourists are beginning to return to Las Vegas.

Allow me to say, THANK YOU, SENATOR REID. Thank you for stepping up and standing UP for the people of our State and getting involved! The full of text of your letter makes a strong statement and we all hope that Mr. Douglas Parker is open to hearing and remembering how loyal we all here to him and his company here in Vegas..and how we hope he continues to repay that loyalty by not ABANDONING US NOW! Thank you Senator, and please keep us informed of the progress as you continue to speak with Mr. Doug Parker at US Airways.
Sincerely,
